For over 30 years, Bonanza Books and Comics
has been serving both the Central Valley of California and the Modesto
area Comic fans, providing a welcome atmosphere, pull and hold services
and new Comics each week.
Bonanza has had several moves
in their long career, each time into larger quarters
and while other shops have come and gone and been
forgotten, Bonanza continues
to serve the children of the children who first came into their
shop. Also, Bonanza has been a 'seed'
store for several other stores in the Central
Valley, shops who learned about the love of Comics
from them, and also learned that customer satisfaction should
be primary in any business, especially one that requires a constant
stream of customers both today and in the future. "We look at many
of our people not as customers, but as family," one of the owners
says. "Kids who used to come to us with a quarter for a book now
send in their children with a couple of dollars for a book. It keeps
going if you let it."
Family is important to the owners of Bonanza.
It has been a family business since they started and continues that
way today. The two grown sons run the store during the week and
mom and dad come in on Saturday and Sunday.
Bonanza Books and Comics has had everyone
from Stan Lee to Ethan Beavers (Justice League Unlimited) drop by
the store to visit or sign autographs at some time.
And they are always glad to help out local talent by providing a
place for signing sessions.
Bonanza Books and Comics,
a place for fans; a place for friends.
